Me
Home is where the job is
I was born in the early 70s about 9 months and 5 minutes after my dad got home from Vietnam. Dad made a career out of the Air Force, so I moved a few times growing up, though I suspect not as much as other military families. We settled for a while near Charleston, SC where I was able to finish high school before my parents moved again. During my first year of college they moved to the St. Louis area so dad could start a new career, and I came “home” to a new state. When my parents got the itch to move again, I stayed… and here I am.
Work
What can Chris do for you?
Yeah, so just in case the CEO stumbles across my humble little page here, I’ll refrain from saying exactly where I work for, but I will say I have to wash a load of brown laundry every week. I started there in the early 90s loading, unloading and sorting boxes. Sometimes I’d do a little driving too, but it was always extra work. With the new century I went full time and added an evening route to my duties in the building. A few years later I finally started driving full time, and that’s where I am today.
Play
To fill the hour — that is happiness.
I like the outdoors. I’m not a hunter or a frequent camper or anything, I just enjoy getting away from the asphalt and the noise. I guess that’s why I like geocaching, skiing, or even a small hike to take some pictures.
Relaxation
The cure for boredom is curiosity…
Let’s face it, I like to be lazy as much as I like being active. A relaxing day for me might involve a good book, browsing Best Buy, or maybe playing a video game. I’m also constantly trying to learn new things about computers and technology. An example of that would be this website whose primary role is not vanity, but to educate me about PHP, MySQL, CSS and AJAX. When the next new web craze comes along, so will my next redesign.
Poetry
Pathetic prose, a little alliteration, & some wittily written lit
I’ve written a couple poems over the years. Some I’m proud of, others are just goofy. Well, okay. They’re all goofy, but a few of them still make me smile. Most of them are posted in my blog under the poetry category if you care to read ‘em. The blog entry dates are around the time I wrote them, though I could be wildly off.
